Speaker Panel: Exploring Career Trajectories: Storytelling in Medicine

November 15, 2022 @ 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm

The panel will be held on Tuesday, November 15th, from 4-5 pm ET via Zoom. Panelists include three physicians who are passionate about storytelling and narrative in medicine. Adam Rodman hosts the medical podcast, Bedside Rounds, which is about fascinating stories in clinical medicine. Emily Silverman is the founder of The Nocturnists, an independent medical storytelling live show, and podcast where healthcare workers share stories of joy, sorrow, and self-discovery. Her newest project, Shame in Medicine: The Lost Forest, is a 10-part documentary podcast series that explores how shame manifests in medical culture. Suzanne Koven is the Writer in Residence at MGH, and her essays, articles, blogs, and reviews have appeared in The Boston Globe, the New England Journal of Medicine, and The Lancet.

For those interested in medical storytelling, join us to hear the experiences and advice from physicians passionate about sharing medical narratives!

As with past programming, these panels are geared toward research assistants, coordinators, and technicians across MGB.
